Students are invited to explore (individually or in a small group) an issue or question relating to education with a view toward becoming more familiar with what is at stake around that issue or question, to problematize if necessary, and raise awareness about the deeply contested, constantly evolving landscape of formal education. Research should include a variety of literature- and field-based sources and must link to the grand themes of the course: Knowing, Learning and Teaching. The results of this inquiry will be shared with other members of the cohort in a multi-media presentation in class. (Some examples of how this assignment has been framed by various cohorts below.)
